"Yoga is a sacred soul practice, and the more we recognise this, the more we can incorporate it into our daily lives, and the more we can receive from our physical practice on the mat."
The definition of yoga is to yoke, to join. It is about recognising the connection between you, and me, of all as one. For me, it is the definition of pure love for ALL.
Yoga is one of the ultimate forms of self-care, because by tending to yourself, you are better equipped to tend to others, which of course is what life is all about…isn’t it?
Self-care is essential for remaining FULL UP, you cannot pour from an empty cup, and so sustaining ourselves, continuing to check in with ourselves in order to keep connected to our own light, will help brighten the days of everyone else we encounter.
Yoga is not just the breath work, meditation, and physical movement, it is a way of life…
There are a multiple of ways that you can begin to introduce some of these key aspects of the practice into your self-care toolkit…. so you can continue to feel radiant and FULL UP.
A few things you could add to your day is..
-> 5 minutes in the morning to tune into your breath
-> 5 minutes stretch as a break from the work desk
-> committing yourself to going to a class, that although you may not always feel 100% ready for, always leaves you feeling lighter than when you stepped in..
-> Taking 1, 2, 10, 20 minutes to meditate
-> Following a guided meditation
Yoga is not just the practical stuff, your yoga practice is also how you interact with the world and yourself… and so with that in mind….
-> Pay someone a compliment
-> Say thank you and really mean it
-> Give people your attention
-> Offer help when you can
and in the meantime, speak to yourself with more love and kindness.
Yoga is a sacred soul practice, and the more we recognise this, the more we can incorporate it into our daily lives, and the more we can receive from our physical practice on the mat.
Choose something from the above, all of the above or something of your own, and keep filling yourself up so you can serve others with greater radiance and love.
